Summary
To fit a bath shower mixer, you will need to read the information
in the following topics:
1 About adequate pressure
2 Fitting the bath shower mixer
3 Attaching the support bracket
Tools
Basin wrench, drill
Materials
Bath shower mixer, shower hose, shower head, support
bracket, wall plugs, screws
Step 1 - About adequate pressure
If the pressure of the water in the bath taps is low,
you may not have enough to supply a shower. Hot and cold
water must be supplied to the bath shower mixer at
roughly equal pressure from the house storage system.
If in doubt contact your local water authority.
Step 2 - Fitting the bath shower mixer
Bath shower mixers fit in the same way as the old bath taps.
Fitting the new tap is the same as fitting a basin tap except
that the pipes are 32mm in diameter. You will have to remove
both old taps. If you would like to know more about fitting
taps, click on the icon below.
Step 3 - Attaching the support bracket
Various types of supporting brackets are available.
Consider using a slide bar type or two separate brackets at
suitable heights for children and adults.
